Israeli Airstrike Kills 45 in Gaza Tent Camp

Dozens Killed in Rafah Strike on Displaced Civilians

International Condemnation of Israeli Attack

An Israeli airstrike on a makeshift tent camp for displaced Palestinians in Rafah, Gaza killed at least 45 people on Sunday night, prompting widespread condemnation from the international community.

The attack occurred late Sunday in the southern Gaza city of Rafah, where thousands of civilians had sought refuge after their homes were destroyed in earlier Israeli airstrikes.

Eyewitnesses and medical officials said the airstrike set fire to several tents, trapping and killing dozens of people. Many of the victims were women and children.

The Israeli military has not yet commented on the attack, but the Israeli government has previously justified its airstrikes on Gaza as necessary to target Hamas, the militant group that controls the coastal enclave.

The United Nations, the European Union, and human rights groups have condemned the Israeli attack, calling it a violation of international law and a war crime.

The attack has also sparked protests in the West Bank and other parts of the Middle East, with demonstrators calling for an end to the Israeli occupation of Gaza.
